Nolan Ryan's First No Hitter

On this day in 1973, Nolan Ryan tossed his first career no-hitter in route to a 3-0 victory over the Royals. California catcher, Jeff Torborg, had caught 2 no-hitters before that day (Sandy Koufax and Bill Singer).  Let’s take a look back this iconic start to what would be a Hall of Fame career for Ryan.

1993: Jose Canseco Used His Head For Once

If you didn’t see Jose Conseco turn Carlos Martinez’s long fly ball into a home run with his head on May 26th, 1993, there’s a chance you may have seen one of many cartoon parodies printed in the media over the years.

To make matters worse for the block-headed right fielder, his team was being blown out by Boston 15-1 3 days later.  Canseco entered the game to pitch an inning, which would turn out to be his last of the season and would require extensive elbow surgery.

In honor of this day in history, lets enjoy a compilation of position players taking the hill!
